God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.”
Thessalonians 5:16-18 NAS
Prayer… nothing excites the heart of God more than this one activity. It is the thing that announces “I am utterly and totally helpless and dependent on my Heavenly Father to accomplish what He will through me… in spite of me.” How is your prayer life? Are you growing or slowing? Are you investing adequate time or “getting around to it when you can?” The following story may give some much-needed insight on this topic:
Two frogs fell into a can of cream, or so it has been told.
The sides of the can were shiny and steep, the cream was deep and cold.
“Oh, what’s the use,” said number one, “It’s plain no help’s around.
Good-bye, my friend, good-bye, sad world” and weeping still he drowned.
But number two, of sterner stuff, dog paddled in surprise.
The while he licked his creamy lips and blinked his creamy eyes.
“I’ll swim at least a while,” he thought, or so it has been said.
It really wouldn’t help the world if one more frog were dead.
An hour or more he kicked and swam, not once he stopped to mutter.
Then hopped out from the island he had made of fresh churned butter.
We do not yet persevere in the area of prayer… but persevere we must. We must not give up praying until the answer comes, for family, self, church, life, etc. If we pray, He will answer with the truth that we need to hear. We need to have the right heart and the right spirit. May it be said of you that you are a person that perseveres in prayer so that you may obtain the right heart and the right spirit for the right results. AMEN
QUESTION: How is your prayer life? What should you do to make it better? Will you know when you are beginning to persevere in prayer?
