Matthew 17:20, NIV
I am reminded of the story of a small church in the mountains of North Carolina. They had very little money but were able to save and build their own building. The property was along a busy road, but was small and odd shaped because of the hillside that rose not far from the road. They made plans and began to build their worship center. As the finish date approached, one of the inspectors asked about parking for this facility. Unfortunately, because of the road and the hillside, there was not adequate parking. He would not issue a certificate of occupancy until sufficient parking had been procured.
As the church met the following Sunday, hopeful to move into the new facility the following week, the pastor shared that there was a problem and that it would be explained at a prayer meeting that evening at 7:00 PM. The whole church gathered that night to hear the challenge and to pray. The pastor ended the meeting saying, “See you at the dedication of the new building next Sunday morning.” The following morning, the pastor had a knock on his study door, and a construction worker entered saying he represented a company from the neighboring county who was building a shopping center. They needed fill, and he asked if they could buy some of the hillside next to the church and pave this land for parking for the church? The church was dedicated that next Sunday.
QUESTION: What mountain do you need to turn over to God today? Please pray about that and believe God can handle the challenge with you.
