“Therefore we also, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which so easily ensnares us, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us, looking unto Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith, who for the joy that was set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God. For consider Him who endured such hostility from sinners against Himself, lest you become weary and discouraged in your souls. You have not yet resisted to bloodshed, striving against sin.”
Hebrews 12:1-4, NKJV

We have shared their experiences. We have observed their victories. The baton is in our hand and we must run – forward by faith. All those we met in Hebrews 11 signal and shout to us, “Go for it!” Our Lord changes not; His mercies are new every morning; great is His faithfulness.

God is looking for a person, a church who will trust Him and will obey Him. We stand at the brink of a blessing and are ready to proceed through God’s open door of opportunity for the future. But we dare not proceed apart from faith.

I want to challenge you to assess your life today. Are there any “weights” or “entanglements” that would keep you from moving forward by faith? If so, remove them and run.

“Looking unto Jesus…,” that is the most encouraging and faith-building exhortation we could receive. He has saved us. We have the privilege of serving Him today. He is the Author and the Finisher. We will share the victory all because of His cross. We are the church of God, situated beneath the cross, committed to telling the world about Jesus. So, we will run – forward by faith. Our time is now and we must “Go for it!”

“There is no demand made upon my life that
is not made upon the life of Christ within me.”
Stephen Olford
